Nets for Windows (Ooooh Yes – they’re trendy again!)

We stock a range of net curtain designs, pre-hemmed and top-channeled in 6 different drop lengths along with all the accessories you need to hang them up; curtain wire, hooks and eyes or expanding rods if you prefer.

Curtain-making Supplies

For curtains we can order in poles or tracks, but we keep a selection of the more popular hooks, sliders and gliders in stock. And Yes! We do stock ‘penny’ weights and weighted tape too.

When it comes to tie and hold backs; we have beaded and tasselled, wooden and metal across a broad price range, as well as hooks and D-rings.

Curtain tape is always available in 3 different widths and 3 different style choices-pencil pleat, triple pleat and eyelet. And not forgetting Pincer clips for kitchen café style windows…

Bits for Blinds

If you’re making your own Roman Blinds, come and see us for the accessories you need, such as rods, rings and tapes, cords and cord weights, cleats and acorns, cord connectors and tidies. Oh, and Velcro is stocked in the-stitchery.

Cushions and Pillows

Naturally, we can supply cushion inners filled either with Duck feather or Polyester Hollow-Fibre. We know it’s like Marmite-if you love one type, you hate the other…

Our sizes range from tiny 12” square ‘boutique’ scatter cushions right up to fun 36” floor cushions. We also stock some rectangle sizes, check them out in the shop.

Our customers have requested pillows, so we have a standard type in stock. If you want a size not stocked be sure to ask, as we can get other sizes and bolsters made up-it just might take a little longer…

We usually carry a V-support pillow with a plain cover (or why not buy a printed poplin from the-stitchery and make your own?)

Beans means Bean bags

As far as we’re concerned, they’ve never gone out of fashion but maybe it’s time for a top up? We sell 3 different sized bags small child (or pet?) through to large adult.

the linen basket has such limited space that we just stock the basics; curtain lining, nets and voiles, PVC table-coverings, blackout and table-protector, cotton sheeting and towelling, some printed canvas for kids and a selection of plain drills as well as oven-glove wadding (great for ironing boards too!) and non-slip tray matting

Deckchair Canvas and polyester wadding (2oz and 6oz) are still available from the-stitchery.

Haberdashery for the Home

We take deliveries of all kinds of trimmings on a regular basis; gimps, braids, giant ric-racs, flanged cords, fringing and pom-pom edging…in fact we just can’t stop ourselves from buying gorgeous new stuff all the time

On the practical front, we also keep upholstery tacks and twist cover pins, Buckram, Hes-tape and chair webbing. Continuous Zipping is stocked in beige and black.

If you don’t live in Lewes this won’t mean much but note to bonfire societies: we now stock Fire Check.

Textile Gifts

We love fabric, colour and pattern so much that we can’t always resist gorgeous textile frippery when it comes our way-so there’s an ever-evolving selection of silly, sweet and rather lovely gifts here in the linen basket.

Right now we have bunting, aprons, cushion covers, doormats and door stops and peg-bags but that could all change by next week…!
